The Old Brewery Mission is proud to join the Société d'habitation population de l'Est de Montréal (SHAPEM) and government representatives today for the inauguration of the Dézéry project.
The Dézéry project, owned by SHAPEM, includes 15 permanent housing units for a mixed clientele who have experienced homelessness. Our housing support services team provides community and psychosocial support services to help residents achieve residential stability and lasting reaffiliation.
We offer individualized and flexible in-homesupport and psychosocial accompaniment for tenants. In addition, residents receive help with administrative procedures of all kinds, and the team programs activities within the pavilion .
The inauguration took place in the presence of dignitaries, including the Honourable Soraya Martinez Ferrada, Minister of Tourism, Minister responsible for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and MP for Hochelaga, Lionel Carmant, Minister responsible for Social Services, Robert Beaudry, responsible for homelessness, urban planning and the OCPM on the Executive Committee of the City of Montreal, and Éric Alan Caldwell, city councillor for the borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, and partners, including Marianne Duguay, Senior Vice-President, Social, Community and Affordable Real Estate of the Fonds immobilier de solidarité, FTQ, Jean-Pierre Racette, General Manager of SHAPEM, and Edith Cyr, Executive Director at Bâtir son quartier.
One year after the opening of this housing pavilion, our collaboration with SHAPEM has borne fruit: most tenants residing at the Dézéry project have achieved considerable residential stability, reducing their need for accompaniement.
