Allstate Insurance Company of Canada is pleased to announce its renewed support to the Old Brewery Mission. With a new donation of $5,000, the Mission was able to purchase a much-needed automatic floor scrubber. The machine came just in time as the Old Brewery Mission has recently completed important renovations and wishes to maintain its pavilion in perfect condition.
The advantages of the machine include quicker dry times, which helps decrease the likelihood of clients, employees and visitors slipping and falling, as well as greater cleaning efficiency. Keeping the floors clean and dry at all times is an important prevention measure to keep the space safe. It was a necessary solution for the premises which has a lot of traffic and was resulting in the staff having to clean the floors constantly.
“We have about 1,500 square feet of floor to wash in the cafeteria alone, and with the automatic floor scrubber, we are able to save three hours of work per day. Our employees can be more efficient on other tasks, because they have more time to do them, thanks to the generosity of Allstate,” states Chris Quinn, Director of Support Services at the Old Brewery Mission’s Webster Pavilion.
“Little things, such as appropriate tools, can greatly impact the life of the Mission’s employees, and this donation will have a direct effect on the homeless men and women they’re helping,” said Matthew Pearce, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Old Brewery Mission.
For the last three years, Allstate Canada and Allstate Agencies in the Montreal region have been supporting the Old Brewery Mission as a giveback-to-the-community. After helping to alleviate the costs of a new medical clinic at the Webster Pavilion in 2015 and participating in the Grand Project in 2016, this is the third involvement of Allstate with the Old Brewery Mission.
“We are proud to support the Old Brewery Mission with gestures that are aligned with the Mission’s needs for its client and its employees. We’re so pleased to learn that Allstate’s donation is helping to reduce time spent cleaning, and allowing staff to spend more time on the people they serve,” says Carmine Venditti, Allstate Insurance Agency Manager.
