Another foreign delegation visited the Old Brewery Mission, this time from the Netherlands. Dutch researcher Nienke Boesveldt met with the Mission’s President and CEO, Matthew Pearce, to discuss the evolution of the organization’s vision of homelessness and the services it offers to homeless persons. Her postdoctoral research at Utrecht University is centered on social innovation and homelessness and studies how governance arrangements in different cities address homelessness issues.

In 2016 alone, the Mission has hosted homelessness researchers and practitioners from Australia, Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Sweden. ”Growth of interest from researchers is a source of encouragement that the Mission is breaking new and fruitful ground in the fight against homelessness’’ stated Matthew Pearce, emphasizing that it lends support to the Mission’s philosophy of providing innovative and sustainable solutions to end homelessness. The visits also vouch for its ability to assist others who may benefit from the organization’s perspective and experience.

The Mission thanks Dr. Boesveldt her for her interest and confidence in its services.
